Are LT's/ORY/catback really worth it?

Looking to do a full exhaust as mentioned above - probably coated Pacesetters, ORY, and Magnaflow CB. I'm looking for a very good seat of the pants feeling. I don't wanna drop all this cash on these and install just to be disappointed. Right now, I only have a lid. Be honest, if they're not gonna leave a huge smile on my face I don't want them right now. I've been pondering doing this for the better part of a month and I need some good feedback. I'll wait a couple years and do everything with a nice heads and cam set-up/rearend/clutch/etc. if I'm not gonna see any seriously noteable gains with just the full exhaust.

THANKS!!!

LT's are probable the best mod for LS1's, if your on a budget just get LT's and get a cutout instead of a whole catback. But I would def. recommend them!

With a full exhaust I would say you should expect 25-30rwhp easy. Not only that, it will sound like a true musclecar!

Squirts11 Apr 15, 2010 11:34 PM

Absolutely. Not only will you gain a good chunk of hp, your car will sound 10x better.

timpala11 Apr 15, 2010 11:36 PM

The car will breathe better, sound better, and go fast better. No brainer dude!

Detoxx03 Apr 16, 2010 12:06 AM

It will help a lot and not only that your gonna need them down the road when you decide to do h/c

Ls1Rook Apr 16, 2010 12:50 AM

Yessir you can feel the gain over stock pretty good.

being honest it left me with a big smile but it didnt last to long so now i have a cam sitting in my room waiting to go in

but i could tell a difference which was nice

Is a frogs ass water tight? Hell ya, lt's and ory are worth it!!

razer900 Apr 16, 2010 01:45 PM

No doubt about it! I just finished my ported tb, ps lt's, tsp ory, and magnaflo catback. I also recommend a mail order tune to bring the whole set-up all together. Damn this thing hauls major butt now. Take it from me man, you wouldnt regret it. Just a hint tho, do the motor mounts and plugs while your in there! You wont regret that either!

nah you don't need exhaust, just yank the stock manifolds and run a bare head. you will save a lot of weight and it will flow like crazy.

Get a good set of headers, ditch the cats grab a cutout and never expect to talk to anyone in your car.

My 98 picked up 28rwhp and 17tq at peak after Long Tubes and ORY pipe were installed through the stock cat back pipes out back with an aerochamber muffler.

LSWONCOOP Apr 16, 2010 10:16 PM

OK thanks for the feedback everyone. I think I'm gonna bite the bullet and get 'em!

donman Apr 16, 2010 10:18 PM

add a mail order tune and you will be happy... the tune may a good difference to me...after the LT, ORY and Magnaflow...
