^ Depends on what you're looking for in the long run. Take care of the other supporting mods first before going to the 102 intake. When you're ready for a cam, then do the 102. Or else pick up an LS6 intake for ~$350. You CAN do it on stock internals, it's not going to hurt anything (Just get it tuned)... It's just an expensive setup.

And the LS* blocks can handle quite a bit. The 102 intake comes with a hefty price tag, it just depends on how much you don't mind spending. If you're going to do pistons and whatnot, do an forged LS6 shortblock and top it off with heads and cam of your choice AND the 102 with a new fuel system. -Typically a 255 pump and 42# injectors.
