Texas Speed Headers

http://www.texas-speed.com/shop/item...d=899&catid=45

Is there anyone here running these yet? They look to be really good quality just wondering if they have any fitment issues or if they are like the SLP's and hang really low.

sjsingle1 07-15-2010 04:51 PM

they hang no lower than any other headers i have seen

Shouldn't be any issues with them. We just finished running a GP on them and have had nothing but good feedback on them! Let us know if you have any questions and we'll get you fixed up!

I remember reading the original thread when you first released these headers. You recommended them not to be used on cars that are stock or near stock, correct? Because there have been arguments about 1 7/8" headers and some people say you don't lose anything down low even with a stock engine. I ended up going with 1 3/4" because I don't see any power mods coming any time soon.

i think the 1 3/4 vs 1 7/8 has been beat to death..........and verdict was......does not hurt.....and helps a little........no?

But if you plan on adding some cubes down the road, adding a power adder, bigger heads/cam, etc then I think you'll be fine in the meantime with the larger primaries until you get those mods.

That's why I went with 1 3/4", since I don't have any other plans for awhile at least

the headers fit great once installed. passenger side is pretty easy to do, the drivers side is the difficult one but its not a bad job to do.

I was really curious about them TSP headers. Now that people are mentioning that they have good fitment and quality, What about the Horsepower gains. Do the TSP headers unleash as much horsepower as the Pacesetter quick trip Long tubes or even the Hooker Super Comp 1 7/8 headers ? I really need to know so i can decide what Longtubes to order.

i have 1 7/8 on my lowered 01 z/28 and they hang pretty low..but as far as flow i think they rank up there with any other headers.

Hopefully my rumbler gets in early-ish next week and I'll be putting that on over the weekend with a set of 1 7/8's. I'll post up some fitment pic's then.
