Default Question about Corsa Catback Exhaust with headers

I have a Corsa Catback Exhaust on my car now and im getting ready to buy American Racing Headers and Catted Y Pipe and i was wondering what kind of sound i can expect? will this be raspy or a clean sound? and how will it be for daily driving?

I have heard a Camaro with Kooks LTs, catted-y, and corsa. It wasnt raspy but with a cam it was loud. I believe he ended up switching catbacks or mufflers to tame it a bit. Heres a video of it, should sound almost idential to the setup you want to do.

If you go with the American Racing headers, or any headers for that matter, I would highly suggest getting the High Flow cats like you have said above. In my experience with that catback and headers, with an ORY-Pipe, you will definitely have some rasp to it. If you get the high flow cats, you should have a really nice sounding car on your hands!!! Should have zero problems driving the car on a daily basis with that setup and not completely drowning you out with Rasp.

I dont want to change your mind on ARH either but I got an awesome deal from Maryland Speed on Kooks LTs and catted-y. Their both great quality headers I just found a better deal on the Kooks and jumped on it. Havent installed them yet but they look great. $1150 shipped for LTs and catted-y and O2 extensions.

^I called and got a great deal after the new year. Supposidly they can give you a much better deal over the phone. I was in the same boat as you but I went with performance over show for now. I do like my factory WS6 wheels I just wish they were bigger and wider with a dish.

We give all our vendors a minimum advertised price that they can't go below. If you contact a vendor, they may have the headers on sale or offer some type of special on them.

I think mine sounded best at that point. It was really exotic sounding and only a little bit raspy. The cam made it much louder. It makes an evil sound when letting off at high RPMs. Now the car has an LS3 and I am probably going to add a bullet muffler to tame it down a little.

i have a corsa exhaust and i asked the same question a few days ago because im buying hooker longtube headers and i already have a tsp catted y-pipe. i heard that if you have a catted y-pipe, you shouldnt hear much of a rasp at all because the cats take it away.

I have had the SAME Corsa on 2 different cars. One being a 1994 Z28 383 w/ ORY and Corsa and this car with a Cammed LS1 and a Catted Dynatech SuperMAXX kit.

The 383 car was higher comp 11.5 to 1 which is high for LT1's at the time the motor was made, and I did not mind it but the car was definitely loud. Some people talked crap about the sound. BUT IMO I still think it sounded good. I do have to get into my lap top and rip some pics and vids of it and I will post when I get a chance.

As when that car was sold, I did retain the exhaust and transferred it over to the 2002 Trans Am. BUT at the same time I did buy a Stainless header kit with a CATTED Y pipe and noticed it being much better sound wise at idle and under WOT.

IMO I think its one of the better Stainless exhaust systems out there. I would think there would be a "Rasp" as that is inherent of stainless systems that have no sound deadening material.
