Dynomouth placement, what's the difference? Local muffler shop told me it was better to put a dynomax bullet in the same spot as the stock muffler, instead of the I-pipe. I didn't have a reply to that.... I just know that everyone here recommends putting it in the I-pipe and fabricating a Y for the dual tips. The same place quoted me $325 to do the job, so I know they're smoking something... but I wanted a little more info. Also, is there a problem with leaving the stock driver side 'oval' or flat exhaust pipe (right after the cat) or should I have a round one fabricated? Thanks. |
That dosent make sense to me. How could they put a bullet in the stock mufflers place? Our mufflers use a single inlet and dual outlets. A bullet has a single inlet and outlet. Unless your only going for a single tip look from the bullet? Most people weld it into the I pipe w/ a y in the back w/ dual outlets. That makes sense. That flat exhaust pipe you talk about is called a y-pipe. Youre probably best off leaving that alone for now, especially if ur ever gonna do headers. Or you could get an ory (off road y - no cats) for now. Plus they're cheap. |
I have my bullet muffler where the stock muffler was, but I had a 98 SS that came with a single exhaust tip. It cost me $30. They charged $10 a weld (welds X 2) plus $10 to cut the old muffler out. So $325 seems to be a ripoff. |
