Default Cats aren't flowing right. Any suggestions?

Ok so a couple of years ago on my '01 SS, the SES light came on due to both cats not flowing properly. I had them replaced and nothing else. About six months ago the SES light came on again. Had the codes scanned and again, my cats aren't flowing properly. I probably should've gotten it checked out the first time but what could be causing the cats to go bad?

what code did it throw. Was it a P0420? If the cats aren't "flowing properly" the engiine will be noticably down on power. Does the car feel slugish?

I'll post the code tomorrow. I'm not at my house. But yes, there is a significant loss in horsepower. Car feels VERY sluggish.

Many GM cars from late 90s and early 00s had defective cats. GM will replace them for free if they're not over 10 years old. I got a notice from GM about it for my Camaro, and the cat went bad on my 01 Pontiac at around 75K miles and was replaced for free.
