I just got my 98mm FTP lid. These things are soo frickin brittle now. My SLP lid was a SOLID piece. I cracked the 98mm lid just starting to twist the MAF in there. Now, FTP claims that the maf fits in there with no adapters. Well, it doesn't fit. I wasn't rough with it, it was just a gentle push and "crack." It broke. I fixed it with super-glue which is holing up a LOT better than whatever sealant was on there.
I know they can't mold it any thicker because it's got clearance issues as it is. I'd almost like a true C/F lid. it'll have some flex to it so it won't crack as easily. Also, check the back of the underside of the lid. Mine doesn't look like it'll seal that well. I may just put some tape sealant on there to help it.

Weird too. My FTTP 85 mm lid has been ROCK SOLID for years.

^ I mean, the SLP lid was thicker and felt like a better piece.
I'd almost like to make a mold of this lid and lay my own C/F lid. With C/F it'll have some flex and give to it.

And FYI; the SLP lid is actually a 90mm ID lid. I measured it a couple weeks ago. The 85mm MAF OD is 98mm though. I DID notice that the FTP 98mm lid does indeed neck down going into the lid.

The person you bought it from actually called us to tell us the story which I will not goin into details here. However, he did say he used it for 3 full years on his car with no issues. I'm sorry but if you buy something USED, you cannot compare it to a brand new lid which comes with a warranty and support from us.

Just so people know, you bought a 3 year old USED FTP lid of someone on the forums and are now you are posting in the group buy thread to say you not happy with it?
