Default Intake/Valley Cover Swap Part Numbers

Well after reading multiple threads about this and HowTo's, I figured I would post up a list of part numbers needed for this, since I never did come across a full complete one. I'm about to order all the parts and wanted to get some input before I did to avoid any delays. Anything missing or wrong or any other input, let me know and I'll adjust.

Intake

4" pipe for SD Tune
NW 102mm Cable Driven TB
FAST 102mm Intake #146302
FAST Intake Seals #146203-8

FAST Fuel Line Conversion Kit #54028-KIT

LS6 Valley Cover
GM LS6 Valley Cover #12577927
GM Knock Sensors (2 needed) #12589867
GM Knock Sensor Harness #12601822
GM LS6 Crossover Pipe (2 needed) #12602544
GM Valve Cover Plugs #12568011
GM PCV Hose #12594779 or 3/8" Fuel Line

Optional

Metco Oil Cap Breather
GM OPSU #12616646 (in case you break it during manifold swap)

Correct, don't need the plugs.

Do you need 4-GM Coolant Seals #12551933?
No; each 12602544 crossover tube comes with two o-rings, one embedded in each end.

Only need one GM valve cover plug. The outlet tube in the other cover gets blocked with a 5/16" rubber tube end.
Don't need the overpriced GM PCV hose when using a catch can, just use 3/8" fuel line.
I have a different # for the OPSU (or OSPU, whatever) - 12562267

I checked on gmpartsdirect and they are both OPSU. Can anyone enlighten us on which one is the correct one to use?

Is there any point in using an oil cap breather if you already have a catch can installed?

What are the crossover pipes used for? Since the pcv tube is being used where would the crossover pipes be connected to?

The crossover pipe is the coolant steam bleed... it connects the steam vents on each head (at one end of the motor) to a hose which usually goes to the radiator neck (below the overflow tube)... not related to PCV.

Anyone know the correct OPSU #?
Either 12616646 or 12562267.
Both are on gmpartsdirect.com but not indicated which one is for what car.

So why would it be needed in the swap?

^ The LS1 steam vents won't clear under the FAST/LS6 intakes.

OP:
You'll need 4.5" ducting for the NW 102 TB. I've got it now and a section of 4" ducting that I've found that doesn't fit.

Also, add in an LS2 WP so you won't have to grind the **** outta the stocker and play guessing games taking the intake on and off about a half dozen times. (Same w the TB) LS2 WP has the clearance we need.

ThunderRacing has the LS6 valley cover complete with a gasket, PCV Tube and grommets for the knocks also. It comes with bolts, but those bolts obviously won't work for the 102. The 102 comes with the low-pro valley bolts.

From reading other threads, Thunder sells the older style valley cover (cant remember the part #) with that kit.

^ What engine are you putting this on? I did the Thunder LS6 VC and it works fine with me. No oil numbers yet because the car still isn't running. I did have to clearance the block, but that was understood going into this.

LQ9 block. I'm sure you know this already, but there is an older and newer style LS6 valley cover. I heard Thunder sells the older style (the one with no holes on the bottom of the cover). I can dig up the thread if you need it.

I have an older style ls6 valley and I prefer it as I can still run an external pcv valve.

Subscribed. I was under the impression that you could keep the stock LS1 coolant lines that run under the intake. I'm planning an LS6 valley cover and LS6 intake swap on my 2000 Trans Am. Does the above part list apply?

Any pictures of the pcv parts that I can delete permanantly after this swap?

Very helpful thread btw. Thanks
