I cannot tell any improvement or difference in sound quality.

The powerstick may help for bolt on or slightly modified cars. On cars making more serious power, the powerstick doesn't seem to help much for reducing rasp.
Did your friend installe the powerstick against the grain?

Yes, actually we used your thread for reference. Like I said, this may not help much for cars making big power or especially bigger cube motors. Just thought I would share the info.

I PM Torchd asking him a couple questions, but want to get others' input as well.

My setup is 1 7/8" TSP, TSP 3" ORY, and Magnaflow 3" Catback. Also have dual DMH cutouts in the bends of the y pipe. Will adding a powerstick help? And also how is it going to sound with the powerstick AFTER the cutouts, with the cutouts open? Another question, will this reduce noise even further? Because magnaflow is already really quiet and dont want to lose all my noise!

Thanks

It kills me how guys put LTs and ORYs on these cars and then bitch so much about them being too loud.

It's not so much the loudness (dB), but more so the pitch (rasp & Frequency) of the exhaust we are wanting to change.

Want to get rid of rasp get rid of the y pipe, the cats help the shitty design of a y,the gmmg sound great and even after having duals for awhile i still love the sound off a gmmg, but if ya want to cut down on rasp/frequency high flow cats help, also a very good y merge, but imo duals will always out sound a y pipe

What if you put something like a flowmaster 40 in the I pipe and put some intercooled tips on ?

Would the powerstick work on my Silverado stock exauhst but with a Flow 40's and a turndown. The rasp at WOT annoys the **** outta me, it did the same thing on my old 05 Hemmi with duals.

I don't see why it wouldn't work for any car - minus fitment/size restrictions of course.

Has anyone tried the CobraPacs instead of the PowerSticks?

Have you ever hidden an elephant under a sandwich? No way is a full size muffler going to fit on the underbelly of our cars.

Try Classic Chambered Exhaust Inc.

248 889-HEMI (4364) Talk to Eric. He is also a member here, look up Powerstick in the members section.

Edit. Erick is Powerstick. See post #86 in this thread.

I have Kooks LTs, the GMMG, but I have the catted y-pipe... it tones it down quite a bit from what I hear in this thread. Probably a little raspier than some of the people in the thread seem to want, but I personally love how it sounds.

This is what my exhaust sounds like..

It's not the loudness that bothers people, it is the RASP that drives everyone nuts.

They are right on classic chambered's website. And I was wondering the same thing. I'm thinking about a packed cobrapack to reduce the sound even further.

I am with ya bro! I spoke to Eric @ Classic Chamberd Exhaust he told me that the Powerstick will NOT make it any quieter, it just changes the tone. I am thinking that a Cobrapac or any bullet type glass pac in the I pipe with cats and two more 12" cobrapacs in the tail pipes will be as quiet as you can get while still mataining flow.

If that's true, then their website is completely wrong:
COBRAPACK MUFFLERS – 3” OD Flowpath (*Over 450 HP)
(NO PACKING - More Aggressive Sound)

COBRAPACK MUFFLERS – 3” OD Flowpath (*Over 450 HP)
(WITH PACKING - Better Noise Reduction)

Or at least very misleading.

Also, why would you go with (2) 12" cobrapacs? Why not just 1 longer one?
