Default Exhaust-Stuffing 10lbs of $hit in a 5lb box

***UPDATE-PICS ON PAGE 2***

I finally got all of my parts in for the 4" merge, bullet and cutout. Now I'm not sure if it's going to fit, but I'm almost ready to find out. The dynomax is 5" around. I have one of those gigantic spohn torque arms with the crossmember that's definitly going to be an obstacle with the merge. Here's my original thread.https://ls1tech.com/forums/generatio...-back-3-a.html I had a lot of good advice, but never got confirmation from anyone that all of this jumbo crap is going to clear. I guess I'll find out the hard way...
I also have a mandrel 3" 180 for the Y and a chunk of 4" pipe if I need any extra length.

Hey, check out the second pic. Would you all be concerned about removing all the extra material in the cutout Y? I was hoping Race Ready would have done a cleaner job.

Can I ask why you want to run a cut out on that set up? Also shouldn't you run the cut out before the bullet?

Where did you pick up that 4" to 3" reducer?

Bob i would assume the cut-out is after the bullet for fitment reasons - so he can put the cut-out in the area right before the i-pipe goes over the axle.

And why would he not run a cut-out?

Also i wouldnt worry too much about the extra material in the cut-out exit. If the exhaust was flowing againts that i would remove it, but the exhaust is flowing with that(like againts, and with the grain, i hope you understand what im saying), and out the opening.

I didn't know he was going over the axle,on a dumped set up just seems like its pointless imo,

Thanks Jay, I understand what you're saying. I'm not sure it bugs me enough to try to clean it up....and here you go: http://www.jegs.com/i/Dynomax/289/41...oductId=757145

Bob, I'm running the bullet before the cutout to tone down rasp and tame down the Hooker catback when the cutout is closed. I want it as quiet as possible closed and want a less raspy deeper note when open. I run around with it mostly open all most all of the time, but I need it quiet when the California Police are behind me or when I leave my apts in the morning. I'm not worried about the 1/4 horsepower I'll loose through the bullet. I assume I'll still pick up a few.. Plus, I don't have enough room to put one after my desired cutout location anyways.

Wont fit very well......but I like the idea/concept.

I'm doing the same set-up with the merge, no bullet, cut-out, reducer, Magnaflow cat-back. The difference is I'm not trying to stuff the bullet in there and my floorboard is clearanced....and I still don't think mine is going to fit great.

I don't think there is any way you will get a bullet in there with a cut out. Look at the pic I posted. There is at maximum 12" before the cutout...

I'm thinking you may be right. I can cut off the 2" sleeve on either side of the muff. That'll make it a 12+" section. I can also cut off some of the end of the merge. hmmmm...

So i guess it is safe to assume that the 3"-4" merge will not fit under the stock cross brace? Any thoughts on which to use to accomodate the larger merge?

Need isn't the issue. I don't need a 12" sub in my car. I don't need 2-4" intake tubes. I don't need a street cam with a nasty lope. I want the deepest, cleanest, most badass note I can get while increasing my flow. If I could run a 6" stack out the top of the car, I probably would. Your exhaust was a big inspiration...you really need to ask why I want bigger? You don't have girth envy, do you? LOL!

Jay,
In the first post there is a link to my original thread. In the pics, it looks like Torchd and liljay have theirs removed, while black00ss has an aftermarket tunnel brace of some kind.

Steve Gunn, where did you get the 4" cutout pipping? not the actual cutout.

I have a bmr driveshaft loop waiting to be installed, i hope it will leave me with enough room for the merge.

Jegs. I'm sure some Sponsors carry it as well.
