You switch the wires next to each other, pin 25 and 26 swap, 28 and 29 swap etc. Hope that helps

Well, good thing I marked every wire I touched.

So just swap them then?
25-26, 26-25
28-29, 29-28
65-66, 66-65
68-69, 69-68.

If ^^THAT^^ is right then I'll get out there with coffee in hand and get it done. I drive my car with it the other way. I hope I didn't screw anything up.

Thanks for the replies so far, HVYMTL.

dr w, it's probably been in open loop this whole time, lol but it shouldn't hurt anything other than your plugs may have a healthy coat of carbon. I thought mine were pinned wrong but I just had a dead o2 on bank 2. I bet your car runs better after you're finished!!

No problem, man. Glad I could help. And genesis, you can still get the rears deleted. After the repin, your old front connectors are your rear connectors as so the PCM sees. It won't do anything other than turn on your CEL if you leave them there, though. The tune just deletes them so that having nothing in those connectors won't set a light

Well, I still need to get tuned. My CEL is on b/c of the air delete... At Lear that's all I know of thus far. Frost will be hearing from me soon.

Default Awesome!

Came across this thread right after I lost an eBay auction for some O2 extensions! Wheeew never been so glad to lose an auction saved me $40 excellent write up man. Some new Pacesetter LT's will be installed on the 99 TA this weekend hope the pin swap goes well! Looks to be pretty straight forward! Thanks

I know it's an old thread but thought I would chime in again anyway. I did the pin swap when I put my new LT's on it was so simple and so effective. Thanks again for the info!

Wow, what a simple yet brilliant idea. I agree w/ everyone else, this should be more prevalent among the LT guys. I'm throwing a couple codes, all related to a bad front o2
sensor, and was just about to run to the store for a new one when I stumbled on this thread. My rears are already tuned out too. So, out to the garage I go....

Bumping this to the top with all the new header questions we've had on the board lately.

I ******* love the guy that discovered this and saved me good money. I bought good beer with that good money.

So by doing this, you are turning the rear 02's into the fronts, and it's the fronts that you delete and tune out correct?

So everything is the same, you still get a tune to delete the rear 02's, but the rears just read as the fronts now that the pins are switched right?

I always thought the rear 02's were different, everyone was saying the rears were different sensors and weren't capable of reading everything the fronts were.. hmm they were wrong lol

If this is true and works on my 97 z28 I'm about to cancel the order for the 02 extensions I just bought! I'm a wiring noob and it looks complicated, is it really that easy?

The thread is about not having to buy cable extensions. NB02's are all the same technology although some are electrically preheated for faster warm up. For what it's worth, Wide Bands operate differently and are not interchangeable.

Ohhh wait a second, so do you still use the front 02 sensors themselves only pinned to the rear? I misunderstood I was under the impression the rear 02s became the fronts but now I get it, you're just changing it around so you can plug the front 02's into the rear harnesses and they work the same.

My bad, glad I realized that before I attempted it Headers going in tomorrow!
Can't
fuggin
wait

new Pacesetter ceramic LT's
new Pacesetter 3"ORY
new Borla catback
new GM opti
new MSD wires
new NGK tr55 plugs
EGR, AIR, AC delete
Dyno tune

She should be running like a champ after this

Huge thanks to the guy who thought of this simple yet excellent idea, now I get to put another 50 bucks towards my dyno tune instead of 02 extensions.

The biggest question I have about doing this is, do the 02's switch faster like they should compared running the long corvette 02's?

I know that 02's switch slower in headers but I didn't know if it was because of the lack of heat or the long *** wire going to the sensor.

Thanks.
