I finally got it done. YAY. Glad its over. I've had prothane mm inserts and a trans mount I bought 5 years ago. I was waiting until I got "THE" headers to install them and have NOT been looking forward to it. :barf: I removed the stock manifolds and y-pipe for good. :barf: I did the drivers side mm first in about 7 hours and the pass side was done in about 2 or 3. Pain in the ass. Fought 1 lower forward bolt to get it back in the block for about half the time and repeatedly ran a tap in and out of the threads. I could get a tap in but not the stud. :bang: PISSED! Finally I bought a socket cap screw with a better lead than the stock stud and it went in. Little fucker. That wasn't cool. I took the pedestals out completely and was able to do it all by myself one side at a time. O yea, don't bother disconnecting the ac comp. if you do it this way. Waste of time/not necessary. Computer sent off to Frost. Can't wait to fire that bitch up in about a week.:chug::D After doing these motor mounts I feel like I need a diploma or something. There should be a shirt that reads....I did poly MM on an f-body in my garage by myself...don't **** with me. |
I've got Spohn Solids waiting for me when I get back home. Thanks for the words of encouragement, :bang: Oh well. Nothing a little "Triple Hops Brewed" can't overcome. Man-down! |
I have the Spohn solids in my car right now... i dont know if they are a curse or a godsend.. Engine doesnt move at all, but ill damned if every panel in the car sound like its gonna rattle off. |
I definately plan on messing with the idle to overcome that part. I'm putting in a Prothane Trans Mount too.... Maybe I'll be the 25% that doesn't hate it. I'm gonna give it the 2 weeks though to "break in" before I cast my opinion. |
