Default Corvette C5-R valve cover ID

Looking for any background on these C5-R valve covers on the LS6 I recently bought. Searched around and have not seen any like this. They also have small tapped holes on the ends with plugs possibly for venting. Any info?
Thanks, Dan

Is there a pic of the inside? I think those fittings are for valvetrain oilers. You'd run oil lines to them.

Makes sense. There is a cast rail with small holes on the inside. Never thought of that.
BTW- love the Monte

GMPP sold the C5-R valve covers. The early C5-R race engines had aluminum covers like what you see in the photo. Later C5-R engines had carbon fiber valve covers. Make sure there is a gasket groove in those covers if you're going to use them on a production head. C5-R race engines had o-ringed heads and there was no groove in the cover.

They are on production heads. Explains why there was no gasket under them when I took them off just a bead of sealer.
Thanks for all the background.
Dan
