Default Glass Packs with True Duals??

I recently purchased a used set of TSP True Duals from a member on here and installed them along with some Pacesetter 1 3/4 long tubes. Unfortunately one of the spiral flow mufflers is rattling and I am going to replace them soon.

My father keeps telling me I should throw a pair of glass packs on there...but I don't really know what it would sound like. I really like the sound of the Sweet Thunders, but I can't find them at an affordable price for mufflers only. Either way...

Does anyone have LT's TD's with Glass Packs? Sound clip would be appreciated. LS1Sounds has nothing.

I can't give much insight on the glasspacks, but I've been extremely pleased with the magnaflow bullets on my duals

Most of the 'bullet' mufflers including dynomax are essentially glass packs. ls1sounds.com has lots of examples of these kind of setups. Also,"glasspacks" are also cheaper than the name brand bullet style mufflers. You can usually find them for $20-30 bucks each

Most bullets are "glass packs", that is basically filled with fiberglass packing around the inside. There are some exceptions, like sweet thunders which are chambered. There are actually creases in the bullet muffler that help cancel sound. The spiral flows force the gas to flow around like its going up a spiral staircase which causes quite a bit of restriction but gives a deep tone. Most/all bullet mufflers cancel very little sound so they tend to be pretty loud.....and that's their biggest quality, their loudness.

i found mine on ebay for around $55 each

Also worth mentioning that these are surprisingly quiet for a straight through muffler, they are reasonably loud, but much less than I was expecting. Not to mention the great low tone. Hoping to get a sound clip soon.

Powerstick or stainless works chambered mufflers would sound better IMO.

Glasspacks kinda seem redneck IMO

Power Sticks are some of the most ignored, but best-sounding mufflers for true duals; I absolutely love mine. Quite a bit more expensive than a generic glasspack, though.

Nice thing with Power Sticks is that you can get differing lengths to "tune in" how loud the exhaust will be.

I put cherry bomb glass packs on my 03 silverado SS... I thought it sounded bad ***! Very deep and old school sound for a LS motor, on a stock 1st gen 350 they do kinda sound like **** so I was kinda worried but I got them for next to nothing and I was happy with them.

Well I have spiral flows now and besides the rattle I don't hate the tone. I LOVE the sound at WOT, but the idle just has too much rasp for me.

Are there anything out there that sound like Sweet Thunders, but are not as expensive?
