centermount options w/ LT's
 

i currently have a 01 SS with the centermount exhaust. last year i put Quicktime LT headers on it with cats...

i know i should get rid of them, for waht i wanna do, but i wanna try and stay legal!

i am going to rapidmotorsports in april and mikes gonna do a head and cam package for me, but before i make it there, i wanna do something with my exhaust but i dont want to lose the centermount look.

i was thinking of just replacing the muffler of the centermount with the res. of the Loudmouth exhaust. you think that is a wise idea or is there something out there that will give me a little better performance, and a bit more sound without sounding to obscene! i had a lt1 with lt's, no cats, and a the 2otl exhaust and i thought that was perfect!

what are some of your ideas? im thinking the loudmouth route.

LTs, a Loudmouth, and the CME may border on obscene, but it's all relative to what you consider obscene. The Loudmouth paired with LTs (even with cats) is very loud and somewhat raspy from what I've heard. I have also read on this board that the CME tips make the exhaust note a little louder as well. Maybe try replacing the D/D muffler that's on your SS with a Borla XR-1 muffler. That will add some sound, but not be as loud as the LM resonator...just my .02

Well replacing the DD muffler with the Loudmouth's resonator is gonna be going from a Model A to a Ferrari in terms of loudness as the DD is fairly quiet and the loudmouth is not. I recently bought a Corsa muffler to swap in place of my DD muffler as I also want to keep my CME tips as no other exhaust look can match it IMO. There are many replacement mufflers you can buy to weld in place of your DD......Magnaflow, Corsa, Hooker, Borla Etc. You just have to find out what sound you like.

I bought a gmmg and had it mated with the cme tips. Check out the pic.
