What mod to do NEXT??Opinions!!!

Hello:
I looking for opinions on what you think is the next best external mods i have to do.The main think is i looking for mods that really compensate for the investment at the drag trip. Thanks for your help!!! :)

heads/cam, asp pulley, if you have mad money go for a lsx intake and wait for the bigger TB to come out.

ulySSes 03-11-2004 12:31 PM

How much $$$ you wanna spend?

fastsspr 03-11-2004 12:34 PM

Thanks ssfiress:
I install the ASP Pulley last week and i felt the diference.
The times in the sing was without the pulley.
I want to keep out of the motor until i get the best times with just only bolt ons with naturally aspired motor..
My next step going to be 8.8 rear and a set of 26 X 10 slicks to see if i can go deep in the 1.7 or 1.6s 60 foot.
You tnink is posible to hit higth 11s with just bolt ons?

mike c. 03-11-2004 12:34 PM

a 12bolt with better tires. going from nittos to m&h racemasters i went from 12.3 to 11.8 in the 1/4mi.

fastsspr 03-11-2004 12:39 PM

I want to spend from $1500 to $2500!!!

fastsspr 03-11-2004 12:46 PM

Mike C.

wish are the measure of the MH 28" or 26" X ??.what was the diference in 60' with the tire change? Thanks

That's a lot of money for not going into the motor yet.
I'd :

1) Fix traction issues. Check your LCA angle. The arms shoud be parallel to ground if not uplsoped to front of car. Change to aftermarket or buy relocation brackets. Pull the front swaybar at track. Run at least a stiffer torque arm

2) Then go for a cam/valve springs. Not a hard swap really and
best bang for the hp

fastsspr 03-11-2004 02:10 PM

Sunset01 you think i have a mayor traction issue?

To very if my lca angle is rigth ,i have meassure both end of the lca's in relation to a flat floor surfes?
My car is not lowered even the relocator bracket is a good investment for me?

What you all think ,i need a biger throtlebody?
The Shanner S2 is a good piece?
Thanks

Sunset01 03-11-2004 02:20 PM

Maybe that was a bit presumptuous about your traction, but I would have thought you could 1.8s in the 60'... guess it depends how hard you are launching, whether you are getting any wheelhop.

Just look at your lower control arms on a flat surface compared to the ground. My car isn't lowered and they point slightly down to the front, which is the wrong way...

I've heard good things about Jantzer's throttle body, not sure if it's worth it until you have a cam...

fastsspr 03-11-2004 03:36 PM

The best i does was 2.011 60'.I tried every possible way to luanch it.From idle to 4k rpms, from 35psi tire pressure to 14psi.The car not do any wheelhop it sit the back hard but not hook hard enoth to break in the 1.9s.
What you think about Hal shocks? It worth the price tag in my case?

Tranzor 03-11-2004 03:42 PM

Are you heating your Nittos up? I pulled consistent 1.8s with my Nittos and very similar mods that you have (didn't have my headers, torque arm or ported TB last time I raced). Make sure you at least heat the Nittos up for a couple of seconds, then launch at somewhere around 2.2k-2.5k rpms. That's what I did and it seemed to work...

fastsspr 03-11-2004 04:16 PM

Tranzor

I race them cold and heavely burned,no matter what i do the car not wont hook up!!!

fastsspr 03-12-2004 10:15 AM

If i install a Hal shocks setup better tires like goodgear 28x10 slicks with a set of weld raing rims and maybe K member maybe it can be aout 150lbs less out of my car,is realistic 1.6s 60' and some 12.3s to 12.0???
Or i need more power mods?

black_z 03-12-2004 10:32 AM

Rearend with slicks on some cheap wheels. Will definetley get you in the 11's with a 6-speed.

Steve1969LS1 03-12-2004 10:55 AM

How about rear suspension stuff that help you hook??? I see none in your sig.. maybe a torque arm? is your car lowered? then relocation brackets..

ASP pulley is worth a .10

I not have any suspention tricks except BMR tubular LCAs.How much you think i can help my car at the track if i invest in suspetion parts?

fastsspr 03-12-2004 01:30 PM

If i change from HHP3 to Ls1 edit,it can help in any way?

A lot... all the HP in the world can't help you if you don't have the proper suspension to help put that power to the ground effectively. You can only go as fast as your weakest link will allow.
