SLP Lid won't stay on!!!

I got an SLP lid from LMPerformance.com and I keep having problems with the front clips popping off. After reading GMHTP article last month and reading how tight the fit was, I was sold, but the front clips won't stay on. The 4 "pegs" in the back of the box seem to be a bit too big, would it hurt to file these down so the box slides back more because that is my only option I think. Has anyone else had this problem?

Make sure that the lip on the front of the lid is inside the lip on front of the assembly. If it is not them the clips will come lose.

Make sure the middle part of the front lip is INSIDE the air box. That is the mistake most people make & should cure your problem.

You guys are awesome, I just went and did that and I finally got that snap from the front clips that assures me it won't pop off. I really appreciate it. One quick question, I had been driving around with the front lip outside the front of the box, would that cause me to lose any hp (would putting it on correctly give me more hp than the way it was on before)?

I would guess that there wouldn't be any change in HP or it would be negligible...

I had a similar problem wiith my TSP lid. At first I thought it was just due to the lid not sitting in the groove on the lower half of the air box but my problem was due to the SLP Bellows needing to be trimmed. I was able to get my lid to sit in the groove in the front but it would still pop off until I trimmed the bellows. Hopefully sitting yours in the groove will do the trick.

Yeah I did the same thing when I first got my lid... didn't realize that it had to sit INSIDE the lip of the lower airbox. Doh! Glad it's working for you now...
