QTP Longtubes won't slide in I have a 2001 trans am and just bought some QTP headers off of ebay. I believe they were off of a 98 camaro. I have my manifolds off spark plugs out coil packs and valve covers off. I know the headers must be installed from the bottom but I cannot manage to get them in. I can get the drivers side about half way up and have no idea how to get the passenger side in. Any ideas will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!! |
try removing the motor mount pedestals......you are putting in poly mounts.......right? |

Good luck your not the first one to have problems getting them in. The biggest help is if you have a aftermarket k member it makes them a piece of cake then. They will go in but you will have to force them in, I would try removing the drivers side motor mount that is normally the side that I have always had problems with. And then jack the motor up a little bit to get it away from the k member. |
Thanks for all the responses I will try removing the motor mount. It just seems like the passenger side will be harder then the drivers. Im pretty sure the longtubes for the 98 camaros will fit a 01 trans am but could anyone confirm this. |
headers are the same 98-02 just the emissions locations change . |
Thats what I thought the headers are race headers so they dont have the AIR or EGR Thanks for your reply |
jack the car up higher |
