Default exhaust question

I'm getting mixed feedback on how much I'm going to be affected by about a 2.5 foot section of 2 1/4 pipe in my exhaust. The headers have a 2.5 inch reducer on the end that needed to be connected to the rest of my 2.5 inch true dual setup, due to space complications my muffler guy had to use the 2 1/4 pipe to connect it. I could get him to fix it by relocating h pipe and making it more accessible but he says its not gonna change anything. Meanwhile my engine guy is telling me that its holding me back a lot and i need to fix it before I dyno it. It's an LS1 with full bolt on's 223/230 cam, 243 heads and a tbss intake.

So you haven't dynoed it yet? What's holding you back from fixing it? Money?
Just look around and see if you want to order the correct pipes from mandrelbends.com, and get it done right. That would be kind of a high backpressure part in your exhaust.
