Default Next Bolt-On?

I have a SLP Loudmouth 1 and a SLP Lid with the ram air hood. I will be doing 3.90 gears and MT Drag Radials in the coming months. I am just wondering whats the next bolt on I should do? It needs to pass emissions because its my DD, so LT's aren't an option until I have a new DD. LETS GET SOME INPUT!!

Well you could do shorties and with some kind of a better ypipe and highflow cats, but seems like a waste or money.

UD pulley or ported throttle body is about the only other things I can think of bolt on wise. What year is your car? If its 98-00 Id definitely do an ls6 intake.

It's a 2000, Whats the average cost to port the TB and can you port the stock throttle body?

Drag Radials = Broken 10 Bolt.

I would get a tune. Then UD Pulley, the PnP TB.

I dont know how much you will gain numbers wise, small probably few hp, but throttle response was much better and yes you can port the stock one. I think mine was around 80 but was a hand port, I think some sponsors have some CNC'd ones now and those are 100-150 or so I think. Cant tell you for sure, Id just do a search. You dont have to have an ls6 intake to have the TB ported. Since you are a 2000 the intake swap is by far the best next bolt on you can do.

My advice is to buy an ls6 intake and have the TB ported, should be 400-500 depending on if you can find a deal on the intake on here and who you have port the TB. Idk how much youll pick up, I never dynoed my old Z, but it was a significant gain. The ls1 intake sucks period.

Is this a manual or auto car?

It's a manual. I will be taking it to the track every other weekend and will run it at the very most 5 times during those nights. It is my daily driver and i want to do a 3.90 gear swap and some MT DR's, will my rear hold up if I dont drop the clutch when i launch and instead ride it? I have an ls7 clutch.

Being a manual on DR's you are at best on borrowed time, I wouldnt be dumping at all, If you kinda roll into it you might be ok for awhile. Gears are a waste though, Id stay on your stock 3.42, and when you upgrade the rear then do the gears as well. Any 10 bolt upgrades behind a manual youll probably regret later. I dont see any problem with DR's on an auto car, because it doesnt shock the drivetrain, but I cant tell you for sure on manual. Seems like bad news usually though.

Did some leg work for you, slp yipe, better than what you have and will be good for emmisions 75 bucks shipped.

Ls6 intake 350 shipped.

Adding onto that ^ I would get a high flow cat as well. Remember you will need a Tune to get the best results of all of these mods too.

Ya I agree a tune is necessary to get the full potential out of anything you add, but you can absolutely drive it without. So you can get all your bolt ons done and tune it all in one pass.

Planning on tuning it soon. I need DR where I race or i will just spin all of first and second and i have brand new dunlop direzzas with a 300 Tread Rating. Looks like ill wait on the gears though. Does the SLP y pipe come with cats?

no it bolts onto the stock cats. just removes the flattened and worthless Y pipe. for 75 id say its worth it. buying some high flow cats and replacing the stock cats would help out too, but thats some work for an exhaust shop. The Y pipe you could do in a couple hours in your driveway

u can do LTs unless ur state is hard on emissions. my old 00 passed when i did my SLP LTs. i know the shop very well and they usually give me the good ol boy inspection. but i had them do the actual test to see if it would pass
