Default What kinda gains will I see from the swap?

Dyno'd 404 rwhp(auto) uncorrected the other day @ 6400-6500 rpms and it was still climbing on the sheet. I'm running Mac mids and a port matched typhoon 85/85 setup. Thinking about swapping over to some tsp 1 7/8 LT's and a ported Fast 102 setup just not sure it'll be worth the time and money. What do you guys think?

The headers absolutely. I say the 102 is too big for stock bottom end ls1.

There would be gains from the intake and it is not too big.

The problem is cost/benefit. The intake might gain you 8-10rwhp but costs a lot. The headers should gain you more than that (possibly double) for a fraction of the cost.

i'd do the headers first. you prob wouldn't be out a whole lot after selling your current intake/tb setup if you wanted a fast 102.

I would upgrade the cam and heads since you already have an intake and headers that are better than stock, no sense upgrading parts that are already upgraded, even though personally I dont care for aluminum intakes

Like thunderstruck mentioned, you'll gain from the intake but for the cost, I'd save up for a better heads and then do the intake if its the last thing you'd need to squeeze every bit hp from the setup

Holy contradictory logic Batman

(I'm guessing you didn't see he had heads/cam already...just ribbing ya)

My thought process is that there are proven gains on a stock car going from 1 3/4 headers to 1 7/8 headers (IIRC ~7-8rwhp). Since it's also common knowledge 1 3/4 headers have a gain over shorties or mid length headers on a stock engine, one can only assume that on a car with heads/cam there is room for power in a set of big headers.

^^^ too big? Not what I heard. This is a inlet for incoming air... Not a 750 double pump carb on a V6...

if a 102 setup is too big for a 346, go ahead and let the sponsors know who built stock cube cars and are chasing, setting, resetting records..
