What's going on with my O2s? Have had my H/C/I setup for 5 years now. Got it tuned with Bosch 13111s in October 2007. No problems for 5 years. Finally throws a code so I figure it's been 5 years so O2s are toast so I buy 13111s again. Now I'm fighting a reoccuring switching code (don't remember #. P0133 maybe). I clear it, it will stay off for 200 miles or so, then pop back up. Clear it again, 50 miles later it's back on. Bad sensors you think? Having ZERO issues for over 5 years with 13111s now this? They change the design of them or something? Thanks for any help. |
Was it the same code that made you change out the sensors to begin with or was it a different code with the old sensors? If different then I would say you got a bad sensor out of the box. If the code is the same you may want to start looking into the wiring. Possible ground problem or bad signal wire. |
I had the same problem after I installed headers, so I bought Denso O2's. Still had the problem, so after my tuner messed with for a while he finally just disabled the codes. By the way my codes were P1153 and 1155, sensor 1 bank 1&2 insufficient switching. If you search the codes on here, it seems as though it is a somewhat common problem but I couldn't find a definitive solution. |
I don't recall the initial codes it was throwing after 5 years, but I replaced them, cleared the code and a day later it threw it again. Had it cleared again and it went about 350 miles (mostly highway) and came back again. Going to invest in a Aeroforce and see what's going on, and also disable the codes if I'm going to be monitoring them. I'm starting to think I got some bad sensors or something. The first 13111s I got had red wires and now there are black. Also read something about different manufactuers have taken over production of certain sensors. May try some Denso soon. |
