slow tach question Just installed a moser 12 bolt and programmed my speedo with edit last night. After a little driving I could not help myself and ran the gears. Needless to say my 4.11's are much more interesting than the 342 I had in my m6. There was one problem, I kept banging my rev limiter which is set at 6800, but watching the tack it was coming on right at stock levels 6200, at least according to the needle. My question is, is my tach that off or what. I only have about 400 to the wheels any ideas would be great. I double checked my program and rev limiter is set at 6800, I guess I can log a run or two and find out using my auto tap as well . |
What about if you take it up to 6800 slowly and not run it up so fast. My tach won't keep up in 1st gear at all, I have to shift about when the tach says 5700 with the stock rev limiter. |
The tach's gonna be slow in 1st gear especially... it's still somewhat slow in 2nd, but by 3rd it will be pretty accurate. This is how I solved the problem: http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/4...a5bf0000001610 :D |
I second Tranzor_Z28's motion. I would definately recommend a Raptor or Harlan shiftlight or any shiftlight for that matter. It keeps you more consistant anyways. The stock tach is way to slow in the first couple gears. Do not trust the stock tach. |
do as above with a shift light or get an autometer tach. |
Yea, your right....I just never had that problem before with the 342's but its quite a change going to the 411's , you have to learn to drive all over again! Thanks for the replies |
I still have the problem with 3.40's  |
just put a raptor in mine , stock gear and all 1st is of over 500rpm :eek2: |
