Even if the actual throttle bodies were junk you still might be able to use the casting with some sport bike throttle bodies

It's certainly piqued my interest...

That's neat!

That looks awesome, to bad half of it ends up under the dash hidden lol

Paul Bell Mar 12, 2013 07:32 AM

That would certainly NOT fit under the cowl of a F-body.

The fuel injector bungs look very far away from the valves.

I don't see a provision for an IAC which would need to feed all eight runners.

Looks neat tho.

I can't figure out where the tb linkage would be. That could be an issue as well as the injector placement

Snkebait95 Mar 12, 2013 09:39 AM

Ive always wanted one, not much info on how it performs. Anyone know how these itb style intakes perform?

dailydriver Mar 12, 2013 05:35 PM

Just look at one of the Katech built powerplants under the hood of the C5/C6R road race Vettes to find out if they "work" or not (and those are all inlet restricted).

Just imagine what those engines would make TOTALLY un-restricted. :thumb:

BTW; is OBX the Sino-made company which manufactures all of the Chinese stainless headers/y/x-pipes on fleabay??

Snkebait95 Mar 13, 2013 07:25 AM

How does it get "cold enough" air?

dailydriver Mar 13, 2013 05:16 PM

^^^ I don't know how these in particular get enough cold air, but the road racing versions all have a plenum attached to each bank of stacks, fed by a 'snorkel' which draws in air from a high pressure area in the front airdam. ;)

dr_whigham Mar 13, 2013 05:44 PM

Granted I've never seen one myself, but I'm curious if it could be used to work with the 6LE shaker hood? Maybe? IDK, just a thought....

ss4chad Mar 14, 2013 05:48 AM

That would look awesome on an Old Chevelle or an ElCamino with an LS motor!! Pop the hood and BAM!!

Ah yeah, ive wondered what that thing was!

Looks like a cheap knock-off of lucas fuel injection. The c5r used lucas fuel injection,
its been around for awhile. Is mostly used for road racing.

That is not a bad price if the throttle linkage doesn't cost a arm and leg. But that would work and look good on my boat!!
