Pacesetter LT's & TSP Catted Y Pipe professional install $500?
So i'm very new here. I've been reading these forums for about 6 months though since I bought my 2000 Z28. I currently have a flowmaster catback system that I was going to replace and go ahead and get pacesetter 1 3/4 LT's, tsp catted y, and a magnaflow catback or some other decent catback.
I went to my local muffler shop and they quoted me 6 hours labor at around $500 just to do the headers and a couple more hours to do the y pipe and catback system. They charge $80/hr labor so that would be like $650-750 just do get all that "professionally" done.
I'm wondering if this is a reasonable price for this install? I've seen a few threads about it but none with this exact setup. Should I go find another muffler shop or just forget about getting this done because I can't afford that at all.

Currently it would be tools, but also the ability to do it. I should invest in some tools though if I actually plan on doing things to my car in the future.

Sir i think you just had an epiphany! But yes i would find someone to help you, even if it is some guy you barley know, he will gladly help you install them if he has done it before for less then $100. just go talk to the first F-body you find with loud exhaust, talk him/her up about their car, if they have long tubes then ask for some help, problem solved

Its a piece of cake to put the headers on. I took off my manifold bolts on all cylinders with except for 8 with an air ratchet. It would take you a day to do the job on jack stands. Ill do them for $500, thats alot of money.

I think you are right! I definitely will have to look into getting a friend or even someone random to help me with it. I need to set aside an entire weekend to try and do this. I found this list on another thread, is this a pretty good list of the tools I'll need?
PB blaster on all bolts
10 mm sockets, deep well and standard size
15 mm sockets, deep well and standard size
7/8" open end wrench for oxygen sensors
10 mm gear wrench
15 mm gear wrench
5/8" plug socket
3/8" ratchet
1/2" ratchet
various length extensions
swivel joints
Thanks for all the help everybody. I've been looking for some more SOTP feel since about a month after I bought the car.
