What's the difference between GMMG and Loudmouth?

Hi can someone tell me the difference in the GMMG and Loudmouth? from reading I guess neither have a muffler on them is that right? but what does the GMMG have different than the Loudmouth? Thanks.

GMMG has 2 dimpled resionaters that are routed very diffrently than the LM kinda makes an S shape after the axle.....the LM has a large single resionater that runs pretty much straight back then splits in 2 at the rear after the axle. Kinda hard to describe.

ohhh okey, so they both use the resonator but the GMMG has two, that's what I was trying to figure out if the GMMG actually had a resonator or what it was using, thanks a lot.

gmmg does sound better lol...but both are nice...SLP flows better the way it seems...3" exhaust compared to 2 1/4"?? or 2 3/4? i forget...and there bent differently

well cool, sounds like GMMG is a bad ass exhaust then, I heard a lot about it but did not realize it sounded that good, thanks for the help.

I guess both systems sound nice under the right exhaust set up, I have shorty headers and regular factory cats with the SLP y-pipe, and the Magnaflow exhaust right now, but was looking for a meaner sounding cat-back, so was trying to figure out between these two since I hear they both are great sounding exhaust if you have cats on, so not sure which one I should look into honestly.

slp is too raspy for my and doesnt rumble like gmmg does, loudmouth is too high pitch BUT its personal preferance lots of people like that, just have to hear em all in person

yeah your right, I wish I could hear these on a vehicle in person, that would be the best way to decide.

Ouch guys go easy on the LM!!! White with the setup you have the LM would be a good choice since you have cats, you also must factor the price into the decision....I got my LM on a GP for $260 and I believe the GMMG is like $650-$700 ish. Don't get me wrong here fellas GMMG is a very nice sounding system!!!!Good luck

yeah I have heard that with cats the loudmouth does sound nice like you said, so maybe with my setup the SLP would sound good on my car, and for the price too it's very reasonable, thanks everyone.

WS6FirebirdTA00 May 2, 2004 10:05 PM

yeah i got my gmmg shped for 650 on GP but then u have to remember gmmg has 2 "mufflers" instead of slp just having one, so there is more piping. still on the pricy side but if you have the money its worth it. i do agree though loudmouth is ok with cats but without the rasp gets real bad, but WOT sounds bad ass

biggest difference is gmmg sounds badass while the loudmouth sounds like just plain ass, not to mention the RIDICULOUS interior noise. ive been in cars with lt's no cats and a magnaflow catback that werent as loud inside as a stock manifold/cat loudmouth car. saving some cash on a catback doesnt mean it has to sound like ass, hooker and magnaflow sound good, flow well and are cheap. IMHO, the loudmouth is the f-body equivalent of a ricer fartpipe.

Idk im puttin on Lm, LTs and ORY. I dont do much highway driving and the noise is just rediculous :-) i love it!!

Strahley May 3, 2004 12:13 PM

Loudmouth is straight pipes with a single resonator

Loudmouth can be had for under 350 bucks easy

With long tubes and ORY Loudmouth will sound like :turd:

GMMG can be had for 700 to 850 :eek2:

GMMG has two chambered mufflers

With long tubes and ORY GMMG will sound like

WS6FirebirdTA00 May 3, 2004 12:29 PM

got my gmmg for 650, 850 if you want them tips but the exhaust system only 650-700
