i'm doing it mostly for sound just to be a bit louder, but any gain of course would be cool ... i'm going from all stock other than 3" borla xr1 muffler in place of stock, - to 3" Y welded on to cats to 3" I.D. mid pipe mandrel bent over the axle to the borla muffler (currently exits to dual tips on both sides). as the stock Y is smashed & all (meaning the way it comes stock) & the stock mid pipe is like 2.6" or something, does a 6 or 7 hp &/or tq gain seem likely or not ? & sure i would do LT''s but live in cali & actually will at some point, but for now just going this route. power level is stock - 02' so ls6 intake & the better manifolds.

if youre running stock manifolds i wouldnt bother changing anything until you get LTs.

i would say possibly cutout right after the y ... again just going for a slightly louder exhaust - even if i gained no hp that would be fine. wanna keep my cats for now too.
