Speed engineering 1 7/8" LT'S install finished

Just figured I would give a quick review of the 1 7/8" SE longtubes. All I can say, is compared to my old 1 3/4 slp's, these things are top notch for the price. Hands down I can't imagine better quality for the price. The fitment was real tight and I have plenty of clearance with a lowered car. I would highly recommend poly motor mounts due to how close it fits to the bottom of the car. If anyone is having a hard time deciding whether to buy these you will not be disappointed, just do it. Plus they have velocity spikes now!

Driver side and passenger side both slid up real nice, didn't take out my oil filter and passenger side I had my starter removed from doing the motor mounts so that went in real well. About 15 total hours by myself to install the LT'S, poly motor mounts, and remove a.i.r.

Only negative thing it can even think was a couple of exhaust clamps weren't as tight as would like but I can live with that. Something cool also is there is an extra bung if you want a wideband 02 set up.

Here are some pictures is took to give an idea of clearance, I know it's not the best quality but hopefully it will give you an idea.

Thanks Speed engineering! Very impressed!

Clearance around motor mount was perfect

Clearance around k-member. More than enough

This shows how tight it runs along the body. Clears, but highly recommend poly mounts or it will hit for sure. Less than 1/2"

Thanks again..

Wow those tucked up better than I would've thought! Very nice

I have their 1 3/4 LT's and I was wanting to upgrade to these at some point in the future. Im just curious what kind of hp diff I might see on a medium build Procharged setup.

No problem sean! Thanks for such a great product and price! They do tuck up extremely close! Works out great being lowered and I got on it pretty hard today and no slapping with the poly mounts.

From what I've seen in searches you will see gain on the 1 7/8 over 1 3/4 even on stock motors so I'm sure you will see gains on your set up, maybe not a ton, but for the price on the 1 7/8 I'd say go for it. Has to be worth at least 5-10rwhp.

I've kinda stuck with my bbk lt/y-pipe setup because it has great ground clearance.

These look like a great option for retaining clearance with larger primaries and collectors.

That ground clearance is impressive. If I stay NA, or decide against going turbo, I'm going to get a set of the 1 7/8" headers.

GiggleJuiced_SS Jul 2, 2015 11:30 PM

I'm sold on getting a set of 1 7/8 it's just that $ thing that always stops me. Lol

RollinSScamaro Jul 3, 2015 08:24 AM

Yeah that was my set back because I originally wanted kooks. Glad I saved the money and went with these ones. Saved over $500. How much power could the more expensive headers really make over these and I have zero fitment issues so it's really a no brainer to me. These are 100% the best bang for the buck
