Default Long tubes or cam? Update #2 page 2

So I have a 2000 ss with 48,xxx miles. The car put down 326hp 326tq last spring with slp lid, potz to, slp lm2. I added shorties and magna high flow cats and I did 329hp and 330tq but pick up a good amount of mid range power. I have now added a bassani true dual exhaust and ati ud pulley. Not sure what I'm putting down now but these mods added some power. Also I will be adding the bbk intake manifold. So my question now is to go Lt or cam it. What do you guys think I will put down with Lt added, 375hp? If I get American racing headers I'm looking around $1500 ( headers, tune and parts to meet headers to exhaust). I know there are a lot of cams out there that can make good power with what I have. That being said if I want more power later Lt will not help out as much with a can setup for shorties. I can't wait for the feedback.

If the only choices are long tubes or cams I'd do the long tubes first

Finish your exhaust first.

Do you guys think I'll be able to put down between 370-380 hp with long tubes?

370 rwhp is not going to happen with just bolt ons, unless it's a very generous dyno

Gotta be able to exhale properly to take advantage of the additional airflow...

I was only asking since I put down 326hp with a slp lid, potz to and slp lm2. I have added bassani true duals(seen over 10hp from mr223), ati ud pulley(5-8hp) plan on adding bbk intake manifold(10-15hp) and long tubes with a tune(20hp?).

As stated, finish your exhaust. 1-7/8" longtube headers and true duals will help with every single upgrade in the future.

I agree with the long tubes. 1 7/8th for sure. But you could get the speed engineering headers and a can for the $1500 you'd spend on American racing headers.

I was going with what everyone one agrees fits 100% good and I want stainless so there will never be any rust. Are tsp headers all stainless?

Long tubes all day. Find a used set for sale on here, sell your shorties, and save yourself 4-500 bucks. Just because you make higher base line #'s doesn't always mean your gonna add on the highest possible # for each part, be more concerned about the curve and a clean tune than the final # anyway. Sounds like you have a solid motor so I would expect somewhere in the 350s, and maybe 370tq. I made 352/372 on a not friendly dynojet and the car ran alongside small cam 370/380 cars well.

http://www.speed-engineering.com/featured-products/speed-engineering-ls1-longtube-headers-1-7-8-98-02-camaro-firebird-race-version.html

1 7/8 stainless headers $280
Tsp cam kit $630

That should leave you enough for a dyno tune.rather than buying $1500 headers

How do the speed engineering headers fit? I talk to a tuner in my area and asked him about other brands like tsp and sped engineering. He said he only uses arh do to fitment and the product will not fail. I'm not sure if he gets a good cut from arh for being a dealer.

I would get a fast if I could find a great price in a used one. As of ls6 I would take a bbk, it's been proved to make more power and I can get one for $40 more than an ls6.

BBKs seem to have mixed results and are heavy.

I just installed my speed engineering 1 7/8 without issues. No cutting or banging. Best header for the money imo

Most Dealers get the product for less price so they can make money,
otherwise why go to the trouble of selling them.
And every dealer of whatever you are looking at has at least 10 reasons
why there product is better than everybody else, and some times the
product comes off the same assembly line only with a different sticker.

Engine is a airpump the more air you can get in and out = mo powa
