I'm looking to buy a manual tensioner for my belt drive. and the consensus is that katech is the best.
the only catch is that I have to use a smooth idler pulley on my belt tensioner.

has anyone done that with the katech tensioner?

After I installed my 9.5 torque converter I could not get my belt to stay on, even with a new GM tensioner. I installed a Katech manual tensioner and problem solved. I don’t see why a smooth pulley wouldn’t work.
