Oil Pressure Gauge Write Up
If you are someone who is trying to decide how to setup your aftermarket oil pressure gauge, then I am about to show you a way to do it. This write up will show you how to install your gauge into the oil cooler delete plate that is located right above the oil filter.
Things you will need.
Drill and bits (small up to 21/64 as your final bit)
1/8 NPT tap
30 SAE oil
First you want to remove your delete plate.
Now you start drilling out the neck of the delete plate. Start with a small bit and work your way up to 21/64. Use some oil to keep the hole lubed up.
Now that you have drilled the neck out to the appropriate size, grab your 1/8NPT tap and start tapping the threads into the neck of the delete plate. Remember, keep it lubed up with some oil.
Your threaded hole should look like this.
Another view of the threaded hole from the inside of the plate.
Now that you have threaded your delete plate, you can hook up your oil pressure gauge solenoid and bolt the delete plate back onto the car. And don't forget to replace the gasket with some black RTV.
