It sounds like magna flow is a good muffler choice if I don't want it so loud with the convertible top down. So I would go from the Y pipe to one tube into the muffler and two tubes out the rear? It that just like the stock? Would I loose a bunch of power with that set up? I don't think I want true duels that dump because I heard they are loud and have a drone. With the top down that would not be good.

It depends on what Magnaflow muffler you go with. They can range from fairly quiet to very loud.

My only issues are with the section that runs under the driver seat. On steep hills it will scrape at the apex. I still have to work with it a little, I should be able to get a bit more clearance and I only need about 1/2in. My car is lowered too, so if you're stock highth, shouldn't be a problem.

The TSP duals run $450, but there is an eBay set that are also SS and cheaper. I honestly wanted them over the TSP because they sound awesome but they were on back order until right after I sprung for the TSP. Of course...

Is this what I would need if I get the Speed and Engineering Headers with Y Pipe?

http://www.speed-engineering.com/sho...-firebird.html

Would I need a cat? Since the pipe goes over the Axel would my clearance be good?

That would work fine. Clearance over the axle should be fine. That particular Magnaflow muffler is more mild so no worries about it being really loud. That setup with a ORY and long tubes should have a nice clean sound that's aggressive but not overly loud.

Are those eBay mufflers you posted loud? They look like they dump before the Axel, I'm afraid it would create a drone with the convertible top down. However, they are a good price.

This!

It only seems louder with the top down because your hearing the actual exhaust that everyone else hears.

According to a buddy that has them, yes. Loud is relative however, and you will get used to it I can assure you. So even if you get a magnaflow it will not seem so loud within a week or so of driving it.

If you live in an area where the police are strict about that sort of thing, then you have to do what you can I guess. I wanted the best possible power potential within my budget so I wasn't concerned with volume.

I don't have emissions in my state so do you think I can go without a cat? I would have the headers, y pipe, and magnaflow cat back exhaust. Is that correct?

If I don't use cats will the exhaust be super loud? Also, what would I need to do to bypass the cats?

Smile

its called an off road ypipe at least if youre running a single system.

how loud depends on the rest of your system. certain mufflers will be quieter than others.

i run gutted high flows with LTs and its far from obnoxious through my OE SLPDD.
