Default 2000 trans am sudden oil pump failure?

*please move if this isn't in the right thread*

Hey guys quick question. Just went for a test drive in my 2000 trans am after a clutch kit install and it felt like it didn't really have any power. Drove it for a minute and at WOT there was barely any power. Well after the second pull with half throttle the oil gauge went all the way to 0 and the lights dimmed a little and the engine started to make weird noises. So we shut it off and it made a loud metal to metal noise and the oil pressure was still low. There is somemetal shimmers on the dip stick but there is oil on it. We are thinking it's a faulty oil pump or maybe a spun bearing? Any suggestions? The pilot bearing was replaced as well as everything else for a clutch install. The clutch is also extremely light. Its a LS7 LuK kit. The car will still start and idle also.

How did you remove the pilot bearing? If you used the grease/newspaper trick you may have knocked the galley plug in the crank loose creating a major oil leak, and a ruined clutch.
