Default Crush bent horsepower loss

Just curious how big of a deal crush bent exhaust really effects a setup. I am in the 800hp range and would like an opinion on my current exhaust setup. I have supplied a pic of the largest restriction. Am I leaving power on the table ?

1-7/8 headers, xpipe, 3" spintech mufflers, sweet thunder resonators. Full 3" crush bent exhaust

Doubt it's costing you anything. This video covers headers but I think it will make you feel better about your exhaust in general.
Very interesting results to say the least.

How do you like the sound of your Spintech mufflers? I'm going to be running 3" out the rear of an S10 and haven't picked mufflers yet.

Keep in mind that test was 500 Hp and through a short extension with no muffler. Not 800 and through a full exhaust.

IMO it is affecting you.

The real question though is how much? 5 HP, 10 HP, 15 HP ? If it's that small of an affect, Is it worth spending the money to re do it?

Right that's what I'm saying 10hp isn't worth $600 to me. however 60-70 horse power is. Not sure how much restriction is in the spintech either ?

With 3" duals, I doubt its costing you more than 10-15 HP over a mandrel setup.

Lol, that guy is really making a name for himself for being a being a fng idiot.

OP, sure those bends are costing you. Again, who knows how much. How many bends do you have? Would it be possible to replace some? Buy some mandrel bends and have them welded in rather than redo the whole exhaust?

The pic shown is the worst restriction, from the floor board up over the axle and into the center exhaust tips. rest of it is pretty straight shot.

It's not necessarily the reduction in tube size that effects performance. The dents and ripples in the pipe can cause turbulence and areas of slight flow reversal.

Why not just run dual cutouts after the headers and then you dont have to worry about any restrictions.

If the system didn't have a crossover in it then I would say it's costing you some power over a mandrel bend but with a crossover I can't see it costing you much if anything. If it's a street car you won't notice the difference at all, If it's a drag car you wouldn't want any exhaust anyway.

Wow, insane with the header bashing... I would have guessed it would have hurt it worse. Might as well just remove your cats on your stock manifolds and run them... LoL

Just curious how much crush or reduction in diameter do you guys think results from a good pipe bender machine ?

Little to none with a mandrel- bend as apposed to a crush bend
