Default Final Evaluation of SE

So after complete install here is my final evaluation.

Install: I installed the entire system by myself in my garage with no lift. I had help getting in the passenger side header but did the rest solo. I would rate it an B+ (instal guidelines would have been great)

Sound: Top notch sound. I think it's very aggressive and smooth sounding with no rasp. I don't think it's obnoxious by any means. A-

Fitment: The kit went together well and seems really high quality. The bolts were immediately replaced. Clearance is very low. I could not get the clamps tight enough with a high psi impact gun. It kept sagging after driving. I took it to an exhaust shop to tac the welds. That worked well but it's still pretty dang low. It also rubs on my aftermarket panhard bar and has nowhere else to. Some muffler tape seems to have fixed the rattle. Below are my pics after tac welds. It CAN not go any higher on my car. It's stock suspension (may be do for some shocks). I like it, and would buy it again, I won't be lowering my car now and don't reccomend it for lowered cars. B-

Curious about the sound too. More concerned about steady state cruising and idling. I'm not looking to attract tons of attention when I'm not trying to attract tons of attention.

The sound seems pretty good, it's fairly quiet at idle and people won't know you're packing heat til you give it gas. When you are at low load/low rpm it honestly doesn't sound that loud. It gives a faint air of power, but nothing crazy, and stomping on it gives an incredible exhaust note that almost sounds like a cross between exotic and muscle.

Keep in mind, this is on an LT1 with a factory(or VERY small) cam, so YMMV

If someone can tell me how to upload a sound clip, I can post a few. I agree with ^^^, it's fairly mild at idle. I think my LT's with with flowamaster no cat on my LT1 was equally as loud at low rpm. Again, stock cam.

firefighter34: Thank you for the review. I dont see our new exhaust hanger installed. Might give that a shot for better clearance in the midsection.

Thanks
Sean

Just installed mine, with 1 3/4" longtubes (bolt on car 2000 ws6). I agree with a post earlier in this thread that it sounds like a diesel. Has anyone had the mufflers cut out and replaced with different ones yet?

Does or can anyone with kooks true duals duplicate this photo with kooks true duals? Stock ride height preferred to keep clearance same. I'm trying to see if the kooks pipes are angled down like the SE ones.

that is right under the seats. The red thing is the front of the right traction bar. Maybe the new brace might help but it seems like the exhaust is almost touching the floor boards just behind this picture.

Spent more time adjusting my pipes and brackets to get the tailpipes straighter. More satisfied with this kit all the time. I can fit an upright bepis can under the exhaust at the lowest point.

I'm stock height on 28's

Kooks has more ground clearance than that with BMR lowering springs.

Also, if you have a cam... or a high stall. Forget about it being quiet.

I idle at 110db with the Kooks TDs. And cruising with it unlocked is 120db.

It's 95db inside the car unlocked and around 85 locked.

If you have cats and a pretty stock engine, the bullets are fine. Otherwise, cut them off and do something like the 6" round Borla XR1s, Magnaflows, or Dynomax Ultraflos.
