R134a ? for LS1's

ok, my 2k1 SS is low on R134a... it was blowing cold air a few days ago, but over the last few days it went from cold to ok, to kinda hot. the clutch is still turing over, so i think he just magically ran out of coolant. so i went and got a 19 oz can *came with a hose/gauge* and i went to put it on.. and the line it says to hook it up to wont fit. well, the hose and the line r the EXACT same size, so when u try to put the hose on the line, the hose wont fit over the line to make a seal. i just want to make sure this IS the right 1 im suppose to be hooking it up to.. cause the only other fitting i can see is the nossle on the condenser. there is a fitting on the line (bottom left of pic) and one on the condensor (the very top left side of the pic) but whenever u try to put it on the 1 on the condensor, it blows all the coolant out the fitting b 4 its sealed, and when the refill stuff IS on, it still leaks out like crazy. i thought the line thats on the bottom of the pic is low and the 1 on the condesor is the high.. do i have them switched? if so why does the 1 want to leak out??

I just charged mine. Did you completely empty the system? Does it hold a vaccum? If it holds vacuum then put 24oz in. If it doesnt hold vacuum perfect, you have a slight leak and that can be fixed with the multipurpose oil, r134a, sealer. If it doesnt hold at all you have a problem (leak) possibly o-ring or somthing. Your picture on the bottom didn't work. Sorry I cant be of more help.

cant see the pic but the one you want to hook it up to is on the metal cylinder on the pass. side. i dont quite understand what your saying but if its leaking you may not be putting the hose on all the way. try checking the pressure with the guage and make sure it gets pressure, i tried to refill a system before and i found i wasnt putting the hose on all the way and i couldnt figure out why it wasnt gaining pressure as the refrigerant was leaking out, pushed down on the clamp even though it was clamped on, then it started reading. hope this helps.

ok.. maybe that is my problem. do i need to totally empty the system before i add this new stuff or should i be able to add some with the system still kinda full. i just ask cause i know i have coolant, just need a top off (well. maybe more then jsut a topoff)

also i hopefully fixed the bad pic...

just make sure your filling the low side or :bomb:
to be serious, those reddi-fill kits only screw on to the proper port
just take your time, fill with the can upright (hose connection at the top)
the compressor has to be locked up (clutch spinning)
and you'll be chill'n!
