*PICK Added* Can I swap these parts on throttle body?
Hey guys. Does anyone know if I can swap the pcv nipples on a ls1 throttle body.
I bought a ported ls1 throttle body last year, dont know what year its from but the pcv nipple coming off the throttle body is longer and interferes a tad with my throttle cable. My car is from 98 and it had a nipple that is shorter and hangs a 90 degree turn to clear the throttle linkage.
Can i swap those pieces, and if I can, how would i do it, they seem pretty well in there.

They are press fit. Put the TB in a vise, heat the throttle body in that area with a small pencil size butane torch. Doesn't have to be cherry red, just hot to expand the metal a little. Then stick a #2 phillips screwdriver in the tube and start to move the tube back and forth while putting upward pressure to pull it out. It will come out.
Are those the throttle bodies or is that just a random picture?
That throttle body doesn't look ported. And has no bump stop adjustment.
The bellcrank is smaller which is going to open the throttle more with less pedal which will make it feel like it has better throttle response.
It's from a truck.
Anyway to get the pvc nipple back in, firmly clamp or hold the tb somehow. Take an open end wrench the size of the tube and tap on that with a hammer.

Or thread it and screw a brass fitting in it.
The one on the right is the ported one I am trying to install, the one on the left is the one from my 98 Trans Am.
Thanks for the tips, not even sure if it's worth the effort swapping these throttle bodies. I guess we will see.
The ported one doesn't look ported much at all. And the fact that the bump stop hasn't been touched is something.
I'd see if it opens 100%
If not I wouldn't bother with it.
This is one I did for my car 8 years ago, might be a bit excessive.
Removing the ridge on the bottom is the main thing in my opinion.
