anyone tried the new texas speed over the axle true duals?

Saw this on texas speed's facebook, but havent seen much about it here. Has anyone tried this out yet? Curious about fitment with lowered cars specifically. For $500 it seems like a good deal.

I'm interested too but I like the tips on the Speed Engineering kit more. I wish these companies would offer tip options.

Just looking at those mufflers(If you wanna call them that...), I bet it's LOUD....

OLDWS6 07-12-2017 09:35 PM

Probably about as quiet as the factory side exhaust I had on my old '69 L46 Vette.

Subscribed just to see if fitment is better than speed engineering

It better. For $10 cheaper I'll buy the SE system with much nicer tips than the single wall on the Texas speed

Snake_Skinner 07-13-2017 05:09 PM

Been waiting for this thread to pop up, guess the wait is over. Really didnt expect such weak tips though, bummer but not really as i got two pairs of corsa tips anyway. Sub'd and hoping clearance is better than SE's, would DEFINITELY buy if so.

G Atsma 07-13-2017 05:13 PM

To me, if a system is made of good materials, fits well, sounds good, and holds up with hard use, THEN I would worry about the tips. Yep, the LAST thing to worry about. If all the foregoing is true, even if the tips were 2nd-rate, they are easily cut off and replaced with whatever your heart desires. The tips are the least of your worries.

Do you remember what it showed, good ground clearance or... ?

pressureprows6 07-14-2017 06:03 PM

Looks like it may fit much better than the SE stuff...if you notice it is flat after the x-pipe portion instead of bending down after the x-pipe and reducing ground clearance badly which is the issue with the SE........if I didnt already have hooker blackheart system on my car(which I am totally happy with) I would go for this in a heartbeat over the SE :)....btw pretty tips dont sound to good when the rest of the system is dragging on everything....just sayin' btdt.

blkbird 07-15-2017 12:45 PM

Yeah, had a good amount of pics. Showed everything you would need to see, clearance, fitment, etc.....

Their website says stock height cars.

Btw video of a all stock motor ls1 car from their Facebook post.

This exhaust system seems to be taking the back burner for some reason. I remember a 20 page thread for the last catback they ran and nothing for this one.

A side exhaust like you 69 vette had on the 4th gen could be a lot of fun:)

Maybe TSP will do one of those...

Or possibly something like this but I don't think guys with lowered cars would like them.
