Default TSP headers 1 7/8" or 2"

I'm currently gathering parts for my 98 camaro and was wondering if it would be worth it to go with the 2"
would there be any loss of hp or tq on the low end?
I seen http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=63640
they had a average gain of 4.4hp and 1.5tq, but that was with a stock LS3 I'm thinking with my setup there's more to be gained.

11.5:1 cr
Mamo LSXRT

230/234 .626"/.626" 110LSA +1 camshaft
TSP true duals
might send the heads and pistons out to swain tech for thermal coating
Yella Terra roller rockers
car will be around 3000lbs with driver, hopefully less

Hard to say but I'm gonna take a wild guess and say you might lose 5 hp down low but gain 5 up top on a setup like yours. Is it worth it....well if fitment is the same and cost is the same I'd say sure why not, but if it's not then it would not be worth it IMO

thats what i was thinking the -5 low and +5 high . fitment shouldnt b an issue have a umi k member (just added to the list)

Actually I can use my buddy as an example here as he recently switched from 1 3/4" to 1 7/8. He has TSP 243's, 228/232 cam, and ported Fast 102. He gained exactly 5 hp on the same dyno about one week apart. I wanna say he said the larger headers started to pick up after about 3500 rpm. In theory the gain going from 1 7/8" to 2" should be even less than that since the restriction itself should be overall less

I made the swap from hooker 7/8ths to TSP 2/3.5 and dont think i gained anything at the track. I swear the car felt like it pulled better above 5k rpms though. TSPs did fit better also, go figure.

I would stay with the 1 7/8s. Not worth the extra cost to go to the 2" headers with your current setup in my opinion.

OP we have the same join date, similar post count, and similar mods...I currently have some hooker 1 3/4" and they are looking pretty nasty. When I upgrade I am going for the TSP 2". $100 difference so roughly around $20/per HP. So just go with the 2" so we can be friends and remain equals.

its not part of the plan now but i might want to go with more cubes latter on. Would there be a benefit with a higher ci engine

hey my equal how do you like your MWC watts and the UMI/AFCO coil overs
