Default 2" Primaries....3.5" collectors.......ARH vs Texas Speed........really a difference??

I don't see how the ARH LT headers can offer a single RWHP increase over Texas Speed headers......for roughly 2.5 times the price of the ARH LTs.....

Anyone have info to debate that....?

I had the tsp and they were very nice for the price. Even little velocity spike in the collector! TSP doesn't put out junk. So TSP gets my vote.

As the others have said, TSP for the price. I have 3 sets and and the quality when comparing 2 sets side by side is all but identical to each other. I don't mind spending a little extra for quality American made but not the difference in these. I believe it's even the same gauge material used on the primaries. And as far as the cheap eBay/Chinese stainless is concerned I bought one of the first 10 sets of off road headers from LSperformance or LSXperformace back in 2008-09 I believe. Ran them until 2015 then let them sit outside on a pallet to this day. No cracks, burn through or even any surface rust on them. So the stainless isnt that bad of quality either. Can't tell you how to spend your money but you see where mine went.

Thats what I figured. I was actually the last person to buy a set of 1 7/8" Grotyohan LT headers back in 2002. I got the very last set off the line till Roger Grotyohan lost his jigs because of he wouldn't pay his bills. Those things were indestructible till just a couple years ago when I replaced them because I hit a bump and really messed one up bad.
I got the Speed Engineering 1 7/8"......they definitely aren't as tough and solid as the Grots.....but pretty damn good for the money.

Now, I need bigger ones for the forced induction I'm doing.

I didn't think the ARH were worth 2.5 times the price. Those prices are insane. Just thought I'd ask here.

TSP gets the order......

Thanks.

I had the TSP 2/3.5. The fit really nice with lots of plug clearance.

If you are only interested in these headers, disregard this post. I went with pacesetters coated headers and the fitment was excellent, they tuck up well enough and temps under the hood are reduced noticably. They look like the day I bought them 2 years later. They are coated only on the exterior. They weren't terribly expensive at all, so if they get damaged, well oh well I guess. Note they aren't legal in commiefornia.

Those with the TSP 2"/3.5 longtubes, did you buy the 3.5" y-pipe or some type of reducer to mate them to 3" y/x pipes?

Curious, do they fit with a stock k member, or presumably are you running a tubular?

EDIT: I cannot find their 2"/3.5"....... Only 1 3/4 and 1 7/8......

I'll certainly look into them too.....I thought only ARH made them....so its great there's other options.

I did a little write up of the install with a aftermarket K member. I am sure you would have to grind in spots with a stock K. But with some work I think they would fit!

I have them on a stock k car. Posted pics in the original tsp thread on the header. There was 2 minor spots, one on each side that needed clearancing.

Found my pics in this thread on page 3. https://ls1tech.com/forums/generatio...h-headers.html

Thats cool, seems like they will go in with just a few minutes of grinding....

I need a Y pipe like that. Is that 3.5" all the way to a 3.5" Y outlet.....?

You would think any shop could make one like that....but twice now, two different shops....and mine do not look clean like that.

Like just about everything else, if you want quality results the way you want you have to do it yourself. I believe 01redssa4 has a thread on that exhaust in the drag racing forum. He's also got a nice thread in the multi media section covering his whole car.

Basically after some shopping i realized some merges are very expensive, my exhaust was already 4 inch. Finding a cheaper 3.5>4" proved difficult. I did however find a 3.5>5" so i bought it and cut it back to the 4" section.

Basically started with a pile of bends.

Hand fit it under the car in about an afternoon and came up with this as the Y

Then I had it coated black as seen above. The rear section was a 4 inch bullet pictured above and i did a full 4 inch tailpipe. This pic is an older pic but the tailpipe stayed the same, 4 inch to the back with a hidden/tucked tip.

Ive had at minimum a half dozen exhausts on this car and most were hand built. You could say Ive gotten better at it over the years. Wanna know the sad part? That 3.5" Y pipe above got taken to the dump and tossed due to the header buyer not being interested in it, and i offered it for free with the purchase of the headers. Dropping it off at the dump stung a little bit I will admit.

All my exhaust are done by yours truly also. I'm to cheap to buy bends though angle cuts it is. The more **** you do or try to do the better all your skills get. This leads to thinking you can do more complicated things and next thing you know you got a garage full of tools, building your own cages, tubular front ends, turbo kits and so on. Is it money saved in the long run, maybe not after you buy all the tools to do the job. But the sense of satisfaction of doing all your own stuff is well worth it. Not to mention when something does go wrong your already familiar with the assembly so you can have it apart in no time fixing your **** up.
