Question LS2 cam sensor vs LS1?

Is there any benefit to the front mount cam sensor over the rear? I was having hard-start issues before I pulled the motor so I bought a brand new AC Delco rear sensor. But my timing kit came with the 1x cam gear and oddly enough, I found a new LS2 cover for less than the LS1 style which I desperately needed to replace. It wouldn't be much trouble to route my sensor wiring to the front of the engine - is the front-mount sensor less prone to failure? Does it read better? Or is it just easier to replace?
