Default Redesigned SLP lids?

I'm in need of a new lid as mine is warping a bit. I thought I remember reading how SLP redesigned their lids for better fitment a few years back - does this ring a bell for anyone? I do like the quality of the lid but fitment has been so-so on my SLP and I'm thinking about biting on the 75mm FTP lid they're selling for $55 (although I'm not thrilled with its brittleness).

I just bought a used 98 mm FTP lid. I sanded all the texturing off of it with a power sander and repainted it. I would not be worried about brittleness of them. It held up to that abuse and still works and seals great.

My SLP never sealed well, so I sold it and bought a FTR 98mm lid since I have a 85mm MAF anyways. It fits better as well. I have no clue if they redesigned the SLP lid or not. I'd just buy the FTR one if I were you

I don't know if they were redesigned or not, but the one I bought in 2016 fits perfectly.

Yeah, I'm not finding anything that indicates it's been redesigned recently. I may have misread a post regarding an earlier version of the SLP lids back in the early 00's that were redesigned to the ones we've known for so long. I think I may try out the FTP though - can't beat that price.

My TSP lid is made of a harder plastic ("brittle") than the SLP , but it's been on my DD car for 14 years or so and no issues. I've had no problems with SLP lids either, but they have been on cars that are only driven occasionally.

I've been thinking about picking up a used or a new one lately since my current one cracked bad and actually failed smog because of it! I was curious after years of being in production if they ever "updated" or produced an improved design, etc and looks like they are a product that lasts. Good to know.

I have had the opposite experience. I had a older slp kid that I bought used. It felt very heavy, thick and well put together. Sealed very well too. Upgrades to a ftp 98 lid that feels like a piece of paper and doesn't fit for ****

My SLP is four years old and fits like ****. Doesn't seal and rubs the hood. I think this is pretty common.

My slp lid is about 6 years old still looks fine, fits good and seals good I guess it was a hit or miss back then.
