Tips on removing exhaust manifold gasket?

I took the header bolts out and just let the headers hang.. the paper gaskets are stuck to the heads on both sides of the engine on the very back. I’ve tried scraping with versions sized screw drivers but can’t seem to get it. Even if I were too it’s stuck on so well it just kinda chips off.

Any advice?

Previous owner used the paper ones that came with the pacesetters... gm ones are sitting on my tool box waiting to go !

Spray oven cleaner on a rag then dab where you need to. Don't leave it on there long, just a couple minutes then wipe off then repeat till gone

makes sense, baked on crap in the oven, baked on gasket. I’ll give it a try, thanks

Have you tried PB blaster?

Same way i scraped off my composite head gasket. Razor Blade and a vacuum. Cover the ports ups or take the heads off.

Well I’m ready to try these thing but I was in a jet ski accident mid week and broke my nose, cheek bone and a bone in my hand so I can’t work on the car, once I do I’ll try to update this post!

So just to update, the header gaskets were stuck on the very rear of the engine I got underneath the car and those last cylinders are semi accessible from the bottom so with a couple flat heads of varying lengths I was able to chip it and peel it off.
