Fuel spritzing out of tailpipe

Good point on the O2 sensor. That was the first item we replaced as it was sending erratic results, specifically it would read then go flatline, then read again. The excessive fuel likely ruined it!
We just replaced the fuel pressure regulator and found its diaphragm was indeed pierced allowing lots of fuel to go into the intake manifold. Our guess is that somehow cylinder 8 was getting most of the excess gas for unknown reasons. Anyway, we now found that we lost compression in cylinder 8 and will probably be pulling the head. Very frustrating.
