Default Throttle cable clip broke, can I just JB Weld it to the mount bracket?

So, this morning I am driving to work and all of a sudden, the accelerator pedal turns limp. I pull over, open the hood, and the yellow plastic clip that holds the throttle cable onto the metal bracket has broken loose.

(Borrowed engine bay pic from another thread)

If I remember correctly, the throttle cable, cruise control cable, and bracket all come off of the intake with two bolts. Could I simply JB-Weld the clip onto the bracket?

I would consider a zip tie or two over JB weld.

I ran a couple zip ties around the plastic square and the metal bracket. It held up fine as a temporary fix. When I put on my new cable I discovered that the old one had actually stretched about a half inch. Turns out by replacing the cable because of a broken plastic clip I ended up getting better throttle response lol.

Why post this in the Internals section? Moving to a more appropriate section.

Sorry. I thought I had selected externals.

When mine went to **** I zip tied it.

If you don't want to do that a new cable is cheap, $20-$30

How much of a pain is replacing the cable? It looks like it is just a firewall pass-through and the same type of connection to the gas pedal as on the throttle body. Are there any special steps to get the old cable out of the throttle body, i.e. compress, twist, push, pray, cuss...

It's pretty simple to replace. When you open the throttle body up all the way you should be able to unhook the end of the wire, same as with the gas pedal. Squeeze and push the cable through the fire wall and reverse of removal for installing the new one.

For me the hardest part was trying to see where the cable was connected at the pedal. I had to practically lay on the ground to get my arm under the dash far enough to get the thing lol
