Drive by wire does not have iac. It just controls the blade. You just gotta eff around to get the scalar right.

102 TB is hard in large part because they vary so much. Main problem is the tiny IAC port. Drill it out to 3/8 inch.

Next problem is sometimes the blade is smaller than the throttle body so it had a big air gap even fully closed. Then another one seals so good you need a 13/64 hole to get your warm IAC counts down. And you never know which you will get.

And even if you have neither of those issues, you gotta calibrate the IAC area table, and there is no easy way. You cannot log your throttle area to make it make sense.

I'd sell the Fast 102 TB and buy a Nick Williams or Warr 102 TB and see if that improves the situation.

There's a board member usename Slowhawk that has a good reputation. He's in NY or Massachusetts and has a shop. I think Slowhawk can help get the car properly sorted out. He is also an LS1TECH sponsor.

Slowhawk Performance
I appreciate it. FYI, since my last comment the guy who did the job fixed 90% of it. It only surges about 5% of the time now, and comes back down right away for the most part. I also would like for the rpms to come back down at a quicker, more normal, rate instead of it “floating” down - most noticeably after manual revs... Is it realistic for someone, like slowhawk, to be able to dial it in perfectly so it runs at 100%, or are these just the breaks for putting in the 102tb?

Tornadogward, it's good to hear the original tuner tweaked and improved it from where it was previously. The surge yoyo and idle hang time with slow "idle decay rate are very annoying. The good part is it sounds like the car isn't stalling so that's good news!

Honestly, I think contacting Slowhawk and explaining what's desired will get the best answer. An experienced tuner like Slowhawk can probably tweak the "idle decay rate" and get the 102 set up better. He might have some other suggestions too.

Thank you for the updates. That really helps other folks that come along if they have an issue see how to go about getting their set up sorted out.
