TSP 1 3/4" Header Fitment Before I waste time and effort, has any one got some high quality pictures and measurements of the floorboard to collect clearance, and clearance of the pipe (catted or not) aft of the collector to the floor board.
I was planning on installing TSP headers, and welding on two bolts flanges to the headers and cctalytics, rather than using clamps, but I won't bother if there is no room.

ETA they wouldnt fit with old stock mounts, polys or new stock mounts.

Biggest issue is, if these companies make good floor clearance, like maybe the OG SLP headers, ground clearance is **** and your headers get beat up. There is only so much room for a 3 inch pipe at that spot. Its a double edge sword sir, and you need to pick your poisen.

I have their 1 7/8" on my car. The passenger side slide in like it was on ice. The drivers side? Every problem you might hear about. Alterations to the primaries, the firewall, k-member, the flange itself. What it finally got hung up on was a small cast piece on my 4L60's bell housing that I ground down. Next time I do headers on one of these it'll be 1 3/4" or i'm dropping the motor out. TSP makes great products, I just have bad luck.

I have Hooker LT on mine with TSP Y pipe, fit like a glove, I did have to adjust the Y pipe some but there a plenty of ground clearance and the y pipe does not hit the floor pan. Also on my first Bird, it had BBK headers with a two bolt flange, lifted the car off the ground and they went on super easy as well, I just didn't like the flange and the SLP loudmouth.https://www.summitracing.com/parts/b...model/trans-am

Oh this is not good to hear, was planning on doing the exact same thing. I have Grot headers now with ball ends and wanted to upgrade to TSP's and have ball ends welded on. I figured there would be enough clearance from the floorboard but now I am questioning it.

I have TSP 1 7/8 headers and the only issue I ran into is the driver side rubbing the K-member. I did the motor mounts at the same time, so I unbolted the motor mount pedestal and removed the oil filter and the driver side slipped right in.

TSP 1-7/8 here and the only thing I had to do was cut on the "K" a little on the drivers side. Had a issue with the Y hitting but that went away with poly mounts.

I'm just assuming here because I've only had one set of headers on my car but I can't see the collectors being so close to the floor that you can't get a flange on it. If they're that close then I would think that any car with stock mounts would hit the floor when the engine torques. With my Spohn solid mounts it lifted the driver side quite a bit and it still didn't touch with flanged headers/y-pipe.

My biggest concerns came after seeing the video below, and seeing some images on the forum. The headers in the video are not TSP, but after reading @99Silver6.0's comment I was more concerned. Frankly if I had the clearance issues in the video I'd have sent those headers back. I just started working on it, we'll see how it goes. If there are clearance issues with the collectors, and they are solvable with cut and weld that's what I'll do.
