headers for this 427 for my 427 build in my 2000 camaro, i think im goona go ahead and spend the money on a new headers now rather than later..... most likely peaking at 68-69 and shifting at 73-74, mamo ls7 heads, msd airforce......i think im goona want a 1 7/8 stepped to 2 inch header to help with my midrange torque goals that the cam will be specced for. ideas? i dont need emissions, and wouldn't mind a wideband tho. i wouldn't mind trying TSP or speed engineering simply for the price benefit, but i haven't found any dyno graphs comparing there headers to the $1000 big boys. side note, hooker on their website says breaking in an engine with ceramic headers will ruin the coating....thoughts? |
anybody know of a place to just get ARH without the y pipe? every time i see them its a full system |
Call ARH; they'll tell you what's available. |
I bought my ARH 2” headers through Tony. He will give you a great price with his head purchase. 2” primary’s will pick up power everywhere across your powerband. Proven many times over on back to back dyno runs. edit...tell Tony you only want headers, not a y-pipe, or system. He will hook you up. |

What Chevelle said - 2 inch primary. 427 with Tony Mamo heads, Tony Mamo ported MSD intake, Tony Mamo spec'd cam - torque wont be an issue. With that in mind, I'd ditch the stepped 1 7/8 to 2 inch for mid-range torque idea and just go 2 in primary for max power. |

ARH might be an option? |
One of the two if your looking for the high end headers. I'm curious about the TSP headers for fitment as I have 99 Camaro strip car build that's been put on the back burner for now and will be needing some headers one of these days. |

I went with KOOKS for the headers and their off-road dual exhaust set up and everything fit nicely and not to difficult to take on and off either. I've never ran this thing with open headers and am anxious to hear it once I get the new heads on it. |
