Idle air control inlet?

On the passenger side of the TB, just across from the idle air controller there is a vacuum port that bends 90 rearwards. Is this port used by the IAC when it opens to draw air in (or more correctly crankcase fumes) or is that port just a vacuum port and it has no impact on IAC function? Another way of asking: if that port were to be plugged, would the idle air still function as expected?

That port does not effect the iac. It is the clean air port for the pcv system.
