How to use TBSS intake on Gen 3 5.3L.

I am building a 2004 lm7 and bought a TBSS intake. I am wandering how I am going to make this work. The TBSS intake port is a different size then the gen 3, and I can’t order a tbss throttle body because it is a 6 prong connector and mine is an 8 prong. Any advice would help.

The TBSS is still a cathedral port and will work on your engine. Not all Gen IV's are rectangular port. The LS2 the manifold came off of is a cathedral port engine. Look at the manifold. Notice the injectors are ABOVE the ports? Now look at the heads. Notice the "peak" at the top of the port? That is the "cathedral" shape it got its name from. The injector shoots the fuel down thru the peak into the port.

My question was more with the throttle bodies. The Gen 3 tb is an 8 prong and the gen 4 is 6 prong. Is there anyway to put a new throttle body on and it work? Also, is there a 90mm throttle body that’s dbw that will work?

I have no info on how intake will physically fit with which engine or TB.

On the electrical side, my guess is 6 of your 8 pins can be wired to a 6-pin connector (Standard S-1745). The 2 extra pins are a +5v supply and ground that the 6-pin TB consolidates. There might be a ready made conversion harness available but Im not sure so you might have to DIY. LS2 TB is 90mm and uses same 6-pin connector as TBSS, but again I dont know how it mounts.
